Ivy House Healthcare Clinic Director, Declan Ryan, is a formally trained Nurse Practitioner (NP) who specialises in the field of general and forensic mental health/forensic psychiatry.
Declan has worked in general and forensic mental health since 1999 with experience in Acute Care Teams, Care Coordination, Consultation Liaison and since 2006 in the criminal justice system with the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network.
Declan can expertly and comprehensively assess, diagnose, treat, and provide recommendations for treatment for mental health illnesses and conditions. He utilises a biological, psychological, social, and spiritual framework, with a multi therapy approach including narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and mindfulness.
Declan has delivered education sessions to multidisciplinary mental health teams about the intersection of forensic mental health and general and acute care mental health.

Declan is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is endorsed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board as a Nurse Practitioner. He is a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Mental Health Nurses and the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners.
Declan is an accredited person under the NSW Mental Health Act 2007.
